The mission of the Health Actuarial (B) Task Force is to identify, investigate, and develop solutions to actuarial problems in the health insurance industry.

The mission of the Health Actuarial (B) Task Force is to identify, investigate, and develop solutions to actuarial problems in the health insurance industry.
Ongoing Support of 海角论坛 Programs, Products, or Services
- The Health Actuarial (B) Task Force will:
- Provide recommendations, as appropriate, to address issues and provide actuarial assistance and commentary with respect to model requirements for appropriate long-term care insurance (LTCI) rates, rating practices, and rate changes.
- Provide support for issues related to implementation of, and/or changes to, the federal Affordable Care Act (ACA).
- Continue to develop health insurance reserving requirements (VM-25, Health Insurance Reserves Minimum Reserve Requirements) using a principle-based reserving (PBR) framework.
- Develop LTCI experience reporting requirements in VM-50, Experience Reporting Requirements, and VM-51, Experience Reporting Formats, of the Valuation Manual.
- Provide recommendations, as appropriate, to address issues and provide actuarial assistance and commentary to other 海角论坛 groups relative to their work on health actuarial matters.
- Monitor and evaluate the actuarial approach used in the multistate actuarial (MSA) rate review process as outlined in the MSA Framework document, and make modifications, as appropriate. Additionally, monitor and evaluate the progress of the MSA rate review process and the state insurance department rate review actions related to the MSA Framework.
- Update the definition of 鈥渜ualified health actuary鈥 in the Health Annual Statement Instructions to reflect changes to the Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) curriculum.
- The Long-Term Care Actuarial (B) Working Group will:
- Assist the Health Actuarial (B) Task Force in completing the following charges:
- Provide recommendations, as appropriate, to address issues and provide actuarial assistance and commentary with respect to model requirements for appropriate LTCI rates, rating practices, and rate changes.
